How to: Double Leg Takedown with The Dump
In today’s video I discuss another of our Double Leg Takedown Variations.
Like I always say, there are many variations of how to do most techniques, it’s just a case of finding the ones that work best for you based on your variables – Size, Strength, Skill, Experience, Confidence, etc… – in order to effectively apply the chosen technique.
You’ll notice differences in our Grappling & Ground Fight System compared to more mainstream Grappling Arts such as Wrestling or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
This doesn’t mean that we’re better or worse than others, we’re just different.
But sometimes, being different is exactly what you need in order to shift the fight to your advantage and secure the victory.
So if you feel you’d have a greater advantage if the fight went to the ground, it would be ideal to have the skills and techniques required to get the fight there in the first place.
Today’s video is just one of the techniques you can use to do that. check it out below.
So as you see, often we approach things from a slightly different perspective but that’s what makes us unique.
Our Grappling and Ground Fight System is based on the principles and techniques we use in our striking Martial Arts Systems – Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do Body Weapon, San Shou, Tai Chi Combat and even Traditional Kung Fu – That way we do not have to change or adapt our mentality as the fight changes.
This is very important when applying your martial art because that way you”re able to just focus on the fight without having to ‘think’ your way through. Instead you can just adapt and respond as needed.
As always, thank you for reading/watching. I look forward to “seeing” you next week but before you go, why not leave a comment or question below.
Which aspects of your Ground Fight game do you struggle with the most? What other techniques would you like to learn from us? Post below and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
