Make Healthy Food Convenient

Unfortunately, one of the biggest attractions with Processed and Packaged foods is their convenience. There rarely any preparation required and when it is it’s not very labour intensive or time consuming.

The trouble is, convenience doesn’t necessarily equal healthy. And when the goal is health, or health related such as Fat Loss, Improved Sports Performance or Muscle Gain the convenience likely won’t be enough to achieve the goal.

Instead what you really need is for healthy food to be more convenient.

That’s what I cover in today’s video… A couple ways to make healthy foods more convenient so that the next time you’re in a hurry or short on time it’s no less convenient to have your healthy option than it is to opt for the cake, biscuits or ready meal.

How Much Water Do YOU Need?

This is often one of the first questions I get from a new client once I start coaching them on their nutrition and lifestyle.

You’re probably aware that there are hundreds of different recommendations out there when it comes to daily water consumption.

The problem with so many different recommendations is that people are just confused.

The other problem is that they’re very generalized but as I mention in todays video; if you want an individualised outcome, you have to take an individualised approach.

This is why we base your recommended daily water intake is based on your own body weight.

In todays video I also give you a simple 4-step guide you can use to get your drinking habits inline with your bodies needs.

Eat Less Processed Food

How are you doing? Good I hope!?

This week we’re focusing on the reducing the amount of processed food you eat.

Eat Less Processed Foods

We all love to treat ourselves when it comes to food but are these ‘treats’ doing you more harm than good.

The question you seriously have to ask yourself is “Is taste and regular instant gratification more important than long term health and vitality?”

Now if you answered “No”, awesome, you’re halfway there.

But now you have to ask yourself “Do your choices and habits reflect this answer on a daily basis?”

If yes, great. Keep going.

But, if you answered no you’re likely already seeing the effects of these poor choices; Poor Health, Fatigue, Aches and Pains, Digestive Troubles, Unfocused jumpy or Cloudy Thinking, Poor Sleep, Bad Skin, Hair, Nails, etc, etc…

The Basics of Nutrition & Lifestyle

Within the system I use for Health and Wellness I encourage clients to focus on the six Foundational Principles for health. They are as follows (in no particular order):

  1. Breathing
  2. Positive Thoughts
  3. Exercise
  4. Nutrition
  5. Hydration
  6. Sleep

If you’re able to balance these six principles Health and Vitality are practically impossible to avoid!

1. Due to the stressful lives we lead in today’s world we often become stuck in a chest breathing pattern. As you’re likely aware, breathing should be diaphragmatically (into your belly) in order to ensure optimal oxygenation of all cells and systems in the body. Because stress is so ‘normal’ in today’s world, it’s very easy to lose the ability to breathe diaphragmatically without consciously thinking about it because when we become stressed breathing becomes quicker and more shallow. This done consistently results in a faulty breathing pattern and can be very hard to correct. It’s very much like learning an exercise with poor form, doing it for years, and then trying to change it within a few sessions. As you probably know, this is very difficult. One of the easiest ways to help improve this is by doing the Foam Roller Longitudinal each night for 10 minutes before bed and to consistently practice it throughout your daily life.

Symptoms of Gluten Intolerance

Welcome to another weekly Quick Tip, we hope you’ve found them useful so far. This week we’re talking Gluten Containing Grains.

Gluten Containing Grains

Whether or not you love them or hate them, they’re here to stay.

That’s not the problem.

The problem lies in the fact that they may not actually be as healthy as we’re told, neither for you or the planet.

There’s the issues with the pollution caused by commercial farming practices, the millions of pounds of chemical pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc… being sprayed across grain farms and then being consumed by us and the animals we eat…

… and this is before we get on to the issue of GMO Grains or even think about the fact they contain Gluten.

In order to keep today’s tip “Quick” I’m just going to focus on the Gluten aspect and the fact that so many are intolerant/ sensitive to it.
